We recently had a little trip away to Cornwall and after thoroughly enjoying our accommodation, I wanted to write a little about it. We stayed in the absolutely stunning Trereife House located in Penzance. One of the best things about the accommodation is where it is. It’s so central to many of Cornwall’s landmarks and beautifully hidden highlights. Just a short 5 minute drive and there seems to be a hidden beach amongst a hidden town around every corner – I mean, what could be better? We love exploring and going for walks – so this was the best location for us! Trereife House is a centuries old family owned estate and is now being restored by it’s 7th generation owners. The house is open for weddings, bed and breakfasts and day visits during the summer months.
Apart from the location, our favourite thing about this accommodation was the simplistic beauty of it. Upon driving down the cobbled road towards the main entrance, we felt as though we had transported through to another era. Outside the house lay a bench and table looking onto the open fields – somewhere I could straight away imagine sitting and reading a book as the sun sets. We were welcomed with beaming smiles from the owner, Peter, and shown to our accommodation. We walked through a little courtyard and into our room – cosy, quiet and perfect for a family getaway. We had an open pan kitchen that followed through into the bedroom and then the bathroom. After an almost 7 hour drive, we couldn’t wait to kick back on the sofa and get some shut eye.
If you’re looking for somewhere to take your family in cornwall, or somewhere to go with your partner – perhaps a special getaway, then this romantic Cornish Manor House is absolutely perfect. It ticked all the boxes for us and is definitely somewhere we’ll be booking next time we head to Cornwall. It’s welcoming, beautiful, ideal and the perfect countryside setting for a week in Cornwall. If we could move in, I assure you we probably would. Cornwall is one of our most favourite places in the entire world, somewhere we’d move to in a heartbeat. We were lucky enough to be invited by Cornwall 365 for this stay – I will be writing more about our visit with them soon. All words and opinions are our own and a completely honest review. We haven’t been asked to specifically write a review about Trereife house, but we wanted to.
