The pop up farm, Harpenden | PYO

Back in October we went on a little hunt for Pumpkins. We found a beautiful pop up farm along the M1 (junction 9) and had a blast picking our own pumpkins, taking lots of photos and sipping on hot chocolate. Fast forward to summer and we discovered the same place has a pop up farm for sunflowers – we obviously just had to pay it a little visit. Something blogging has bought us, which I never thought it would, is friends. We met up with Amy, Ivy and teddy about a year ago and a friendship instantly blossomed. We now regularly (as you can tell if you read my blog) head on days out with the girls. We both love photography and blogging  so we knew straight away that the sunflower fields were something we had to do together!

You may be able to tell from the featured photo – Daisy wasn’t in the best mood. We ended up visiting two different sunflower fields in one day as the first one wasn’t as successful as we had hoped. That being said, The Pop Up Farm is definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for something to do with little ones. They have a maze that children can run about in, a coffee shop and the amazing field of sunflowers that are available to pick. The only downside, we found, was that it was taped up with plastic red and white tape – you can still get into the sunflowers but it definitely ruined the look for photos and didn’t seem necessary. Daisy soon cheered up and that’s when we found a second sunflower field.

If you want to find out more information about The Pop Up Farm then definitely have a little look at their website. Entry to the farm is free, if you want to pick sunflowers then there is a charge. They take card payments and coffee, tea, juice, water, and popcorn can be bought at The Pitstop. As well as sunflowers, wheat posies and sunflower seeds are also available for purchase.
