We have a new addition to our family of three and he comes in the form of a beautiful little pup named Dollar. He’s a 13 week old Chihuahua cross Jack Russell and we love him. I’ve always grown up with dogs around me. When I was born we had Charlie and Daniel. They sadly passed and we ended up buying two more dogs that are still with us now; Bonnie and Rex. When I moved out of my parents house I felt that we needed an animal of some sort! We bought our little hamster, Fizz, but she’s so incredibly nocturnal that we never bloody see her unless we disturb her sleep and drag her out of her house. We did a spot of dog sitting a couple of weeks ago for Andrew’s boss’ new puppy – a 14 week pug called Cooper. He was adorable and we had so much fun that I managed to talk Andrew into owning our own little pup. So here’s Dollar – our new baby.
He’s energetic and hard work. He’s only tiny but is shedding a lot already. Thankfully one of my friends suggested I got a Roomba which was great advice. Dollar isn’t sure of it though, bless him. We have bought him lots of toys to keep him entertained and a heated dog bed. Andrew’s boss had a heated dog bed for Cooper, and after seeing how much Cooper loved it we decided to get one too. They are supposed to mimic the warmth of a mother dog, which makes them good for puppies like Dollar. Click here for a collection of the best heated dog beds. He LOVES Daisy but Daisy is still a little hesitant. Especially when Dollar steals her bunny. All hell will break loose then. Apart from their little tiffs as they are learning about each other, it’s lovely to watch their bond. He is so little we haven’t been able to take him out for a walk yet. He looks huge in these photos but I assure you he is absolutely tiny. Daisy is learning all about having a new puppy. If he does a wee on his training pad daisy says ‘good doggy! Mummy! look. wee wee’ and we give him a treat together. If he does a poo on the carpet she says ‘uh oh mummy. poo. carpet’ and we pick him up and put him on his mat. If he steals bunny though – ‘DOLLAR NO. NAUGHTY DOLLAR. MUMY.BUNNY’. I’m looking forward to seeing them grow together.
