Oh hello, Twenty Eighteen
Happy new year! What a year 2017 was. Don’t we all say this before the start of a whole new chapter? Me and Andrew were speaking a few nights ago about how funny it is – that in-between feeling before the new year and after Christmas. Like there’s something in our heads that tell us not to start anything new and to just linger. That’s what we’ve been doing; lingering! It’s silly really, isn’t it?
As soon as January 1st hit, that was it. We’re busy writing lists and getting organised. I wanted to share a few of my ‘goals’ for the new year – A post that may be boring for others to read, but I love to look back at these resolutions and see which I’ve accomplished by the end of the year.
A long haul holiday
I’d like to take Daisy on her first long haul flight. We had Dubai in mind but are quite tempted by somewhere in America. Either way, we want to go a little further afield this year and hopefully ease Daisy into slightly longer flights – eek! For someone that loves traveling, I absolutely hate flying. I can’t relax and panic the whole time that we’re going to die – haha. A little dramatic, you might say. On top of a long haul holiday we also want to travel as much, or more, than we did in 2017. I’d like to visit at least three new countries!
Double my income
I don’t necessarily want to work harder, I just want to work smarter. I need to use my time more efficiently and point my effort into the right direction. By the end of the year I would like to have at least doubled my annual income. It’s hard being self employed as I find that I really need to push myself to work somedays. That being said, not a day goes by without me feeling incredibly lucky to have a job I love.
Read more books. Write a book.
This may sound a little crazy but I really want to write a book. I’ve always loved writing, and although my punctuation is probably a little poor, I don’t feel that should hold me back. I started writing something a few months back, and I can’t wait to carry it on and hopefully self publish it by the end of the year. I’m also enjoying reading again. I now always lay in bed before falling asleep and instead of scrolling mindlessly through my phone, I’ll read instead. It’s much more fulfilling.
Establish Dear Little Daisy
I really want to further establish Dear Little Daisy. I want to write a few e-courses, provide workshops and widen my product variety. I’d really like to offer prints with photoshoots in order to provide clients with a physical outcome rather than just something digital sent via email. I want to make more videos. I want to take better photos. I want to photograph more weddings. I want to photograph a birth. The list goes on!
