It’s the little things Linky | Chilly walks and tired eyes

Thank you everyone that joint in with mine and Lauren’s new linky last week – we had some really lovely posts. This week Lauren is hosting so head on over to her blog and link up all anything that’s made your week. Although it’s only the second week, I can tell I’m going to love this linky. It’s so nice to read about all the little things that make people smile – things that you may usually let go over your head. My favourite pots from last week is from Mama cat + Baby bee. Her goal for the year was to embrace slow and so our linky fits in really well with that new years resolution. Something that made her smile last week was a stranger coming to the rescue to help her when she was struggling carrying food and a toddler (we all know how hard that can be).

New clothes – So, I don’t have lots of money to splash on fancy clothes, I usually try to find vintage stuff on things like Shoppok Free Classifieds which is usually pretty successful actually. Don’t get me wrong – I do like to stock up mine and Daisy’s wardrobe with new bits too when I can (too often), but I don’t tend to spend hundreds. When the lovely people and Boden sent myself and Daisy some new clothes, it felt really nice to wear something that FELT AMAZING. The jumper they sent me was a little more expensive than what I’d usually spend on a jumper but OH MY it felt gorgeous to wear.

Fresh air – me and Daisy have been a little poorly (as I’ve probably mentioned! I’m not good at being ill) It was lovely to just get out and have some fresh air. Sometimes it’s lovely when the cold hits your cheeks and it almost makes you feel instantly better. I’m not one for the cold weather, but when you’ve been cooped up inside with a temperature, it’s nice to get that fresh hit!

Tired eyes – Daisy tends to wake up a few times each evening. It’s annoying at the time if I’m trying to watch a movie or get some work done – but it’s definitely something little that I secretly love. I always hear her feet shuffling in and then she’ll stand in the hall way (out of sight) until I call her. She’ll then shuffle in and cuddle me. I’ll then put her back into her bed and she’ll fall straight back to sleep.

A very good reminder for this time of year that getting outside when you are not feeling your best can be a GOOD thing! I know for myself, being holed up at home can dampen my spirits to the point where – who knows – it may be HARDER to get over a sickness. Just subscribed to your blog! Glad to know about your linky! #bestandworst
