John Fowler Holidays
I’ve been to Cornwall a couple of times before having Daisy, but never with her. It’s somewhere that I’ve wanted to take her for a while now and so when John Fowler Holidays organised for us to take a trip down to Cornwall and stay on one of their beautiful sites, we couldn’t exactly say no could we? John Fowler have 14 holiday parks located in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. With us having been to Somerset this year already and really loving the idea of Cornwall, we decided to go as far South West as we possibly could and stayed in Hayle. This was just a twenty minute drive away from Land’s End and so many other beautiful sights. One thing that I immediately loved about John Fowler was the range of accommodation. A lot of holiday parks in the UK consist of either caravans or camping – I personally dislike both! Yet with John Fowler you can pick from caravans, lodges, chalets, apartments, cottages, bungalows, camping, touring and even glamping holidays. What more could you pick from?
The site itself was lovely. It was clean, thoroughly looked after and had a lot of different facilities. We stayed in Tudor court which was beautiful. Just around the corner was an indoor swimming pool, a little park, reception area, a little soft play area, the restaurant and a clubhouse. We didn’t use the restaurant as we ate in the room or out most nights but we heard from other guests that the food was delicious and really affordable. We used the indoor swimming pool which was lovely, it wasn’t too cold and was a great size. They also provide you with a list of activities that are available through the swimming pool. The bungalow itself was great too – me and Andrew both said it’s the one place we’ve stayed in where the kitchen was full stocked with the utensils we’d need to cook! A lot of places don’t provide you with enough pots and pans, but we felt well equipped to cook our meals each night and therefore save money to do other things!
We stayed in Hayle which was a lovely little town. We wanted to make the most of our trip so we visited a lot of different little fisherman towns. I absolutely love the countryside, as does Andrew. We are definitely not city people and prefer the lovely views and beautiful scenery from the country. The first town we went to, of which I was super excited to visit, was St.Ives. I’ve heard how beautiful it is and have wanted to visit for some time. I wasn’t disappointed! It was only a ten minute drive away and was incredibly pretty. We wandered around the cobbled streets, looked in the independent boutiques and bought chips to eat on the beach. The beach is by far, the nicest beach I’ve seen in the UK. The water is clear and the sand is golden! We also visited Penzance, Lands End and Newquay. Hayle is located within a decent distance of so many beautiful little fisherman towns, you’ll be spoilt for choice with where to go.
*John Fowler Holidays provided us with five nights accommodation in exchange for our review. All words are honest and my own opinion*
