About us

What is Dear Little Daisy?

Dear Little Daisy started four years ago after a surprise test revealed I was pregnant. I’d just finished university and gained a first class honours degree in photography. I started writing letters and documenting life with a newborn. It was then that I realised just how much I loved blogging. Over the years it slowly developed more into a travel and lifestyle blog where I use photography and creative content to showcase how fun and easy it can be whilst traveling with children. We blog about most things, but Travel and photography is where our passion makes home.
Dear Little Daisy is a travel and photography blog. It’s also a photography business. People have asked in the past why I didn’t think of a different name for my photography business and the answer to that is because I love this name. It signifies a time in my life in which I had no idea what I was doing. I was a first time mum and completely winging parenthood. Dear Little Daisy is about capturing the feelings behind the colour and taking memorable photos of small moments in-between the larger ones.
Jodie (Me)
Hello! I’m Jodie – a 26 year old from Hertfordshire. I’m a quiet and shy individual and definitely more of an introvert. I am my most confident and my most happiest when traveling away from England. Travel and photography have always been my sole purpose. I hated school and as soon as I could leave – I did. I studied travel and tourism at college followed by photography at university. The goal was to be a travel photographer.
Little did I know exactly how hard it would be to become a photographer in such a competitive industry. I started taking photos freelance whilst working at a care home. It was there that I found myself a little stuck. I fell pregnant with Daisy and after returning back from maternity leave, I knew it was time to leave. I worked hard on Dear Little Daisy – and as I started to make money.. I quit my care home job. I haven’t looked back since!

Andrew works full time as a chef. Although this is his main income, it is not his main passion. Whenever I need anything fixed or a solution to a problem – he’s my go-to guy. In his spare time he’s working on his cards (all 5 of them) as that is how he enjoys spending his days. He’s got a mind that works a little like clockwork. He knows when something is broken, and knows exactly how to fix it

Although his job is not what he wants to do, he is bloody good at it. He tends to be the chef in our household because I’m not a natural in the kitchen. He rustles up something amazing from nothing and my goodness.. does he make the best spaghetti bolognese. I call him Awkward Andrew because he’s so awkward sometimes, but that’s just a part of him and why I love him. Andrew isn’t Daisy’s biological dad and he doesn’t live with us yet. But we’ve been together four years and he’s been the most amazing step dad and role model for Daisy.

Daisy is the complete opposite of me. She’s loud, confident, bossy and headstrong. She knows what she wants and she knows how to get it. I never saw myself as a parent but as soon as I saw that positive pregnancy test I fell in love. I knew that I wanted this so bad. She’s a character – that’s for sure. (they all are, aren’t they?). She’s feisty and shows me everyday how to be stronger and more stubborn. She tests boundaries and she pushes me out of my comfort zone.
I’ve never known anyone to make me laugh like she does. She come out with the funniest things and has an amazing imagination. She’s a super girly girl and enjoys playing with barbies. She’d role-play with them all day if she could. She goes to Nursery 5 days a week and absolutely LOVES it. I’ve never loved anyone as much as I love this crazy little person. I will be forever blessed to have her in my life!
